Includes letters and photocopies of letters pertaining to surgeon Nathan Hayward's (1762-1848) service in the 3rd sub-Legion of the United States Army during the campaigns against Native Americans and Wayne's Campaign in 1794; Dr. James W. Hayward's service in the 44th Mass. Volunteer Infantry Regiment, Company F (Charles Storrow's) during the Civil War, 1862-64; condolences for the deaths of Nathan (1830-1866) and James Warren; and other Hayward family affairs. Also includes Hayward, Winslow, and Russell family genealogical notes; a typescript copy of the Hayward genealogy; photocopies of deeds for land in Plymouth, Mass.; and a puzzle created by Nathan Hayward (1830-1866).
